Back in Brantley today for the very LAST workday before the full move-in! Woo Hoo. We couldn’t be more excited.
The fireplace wall that no one believed we really had a plan for came rapidly together today. The cabinet crew did an amazing job of executing my vision for the concealed TV.
The Tv is recessed into the wall so that it is flush with the face. The doors are then double hinged with concealed brackets and fold all the way back flat against the side walls. The opening around the firebox will be the same product that is on the floor for a seamless transition.
We have three families on the eve of move in day so you can imagine the organized chaos that is the norm around here right now.
This picture pretty much tells the story. (Good thing I had a key to the back door ’cause I couldn’t fit through the crack that was left in the shop doorway.)
Need any lamps? Chandeliers? Hardware? How about rugs? Not a problem. I think we’ve got you covered. haha
We had a blast staging houses for a recent photo shoot. The whole neighborhood got caught up in the excitement and came bearing garden flowers, food, smiles and well wishes. Don’t you agree that seeing a room go from unused and unloved – because it is just not “you” – to something that makes you do the happy dance every time you walk by is something worth celebrating??? I do! And so does the sweet family who lives in this home. We have been slowly working our way through the house making each room a special place designed just for their family and I can’t even tell you how much fun we have had.
So…… I give you the Living Room…… BEFORE
The room was dark and oh so serious and did I mention never used? “Ain’t nobody got time for that.”
After much discussion with the owners I learned that what they really wanted was an adult space where they could close those double bi-fold doors to the den and actually have a conversation without Dora’s input. (You would have to have kids or grands to understand.) They wanted bright and happy and sophisticated. They wanted to be able to sit in a pleasant environment and watch the kids in the pool which is just beyond that big window that was BEHIND the sofa. (Think jump up and turn around at every scream. Not good.)
Sooooooooooooo, we did this.
