Go Ahead, Get Stoned.

I had so much fun at the stone yard today. I “get stoned” the right way.

I have done so much with white subway tiles and light-colored interiors lately that digging in to a true European feel house this week got me major pumped.

It was the perfect kick off to fall.

This house will be located on about 75 acres of rolling pasture land overlooking a pond so as soon as you approach you will “feel” the strength of this brick and stone house with the pea gravel motor court and substantial landscaping.

The exterior stone will also be used on  the fireplace in the great room.

Floors? Limestone throughout. Did I just get to say that??? yep. Excited.

The master bath has a monster shower/steam shower combination with a front glass wall. This is what you will see when you walk in.

The large bottom stone is available as a 24″ x 40″ tile. You better stop for a minute and think about that one. That’s a vertical tile that is almost 4 feet tall y’all! Can we talk about grout elimination?

If it’s available… let’s use it! We will run the first band in this beefy tile and top it with an 18″ band of the decorative tile and finish it with a 24″ x 24″ with the grout lines lining up to continue the line of the eye as it travels up the 10′ wall. The floor is a 2 x 2 of the same product.

The shitake Caesarstone quartz will be the bench seat in the steam shower as well as the counter tops in the bath. I am seriously thinking about unpolished gold fixtures in here. Bring on the patina.

Bath number 2 will get a simple porcelain that looks like sand dunes on the walls of a walk in shower. Isn’t that lush? The floor is the tumbled stone on the left laid in a herringbone pattern. Happy dance.

We liked the floor tile so much we decided to repeat it on the kitchen backsplash behind the copper range hood.

The largest tile below is the limestone that goes on the floor and the two polished quartz samples are the counters. Linen on the perimeter and the Ginger on the island.

Can you get excited with me? Follow along for the next 10 months or so as this project comes out of the ground and we seek to add a bit of the old country to lower Alabama.

Should be fun!
