I just spent a surreal 5 days with sweet friends and 19 lifestyle bloggers at what was dubbed The First Annual Tybee Sleepover. Hosted by author Mary Kay Andrews, Mermaid Cottages and Rhoda from Southern Hospitality blog, we were wined and dined and generally spoiled rotten the entire trip. I will give you an overview of the trip and what you don’t want to miss on your trip to the adorable island of Tybee. Ok, basically, I will just plan your must take Tybee vacation for you. Deal?
The morning that we left, KariAnne from Thistlewood Farms wrote a post on a new app called Waterlogue and apparently the whole world read it because Instagram blew up that morning with everyone’s pictures turned into watercolors. We had to get in on the action; so, here we are tooling down the road…. all waterlogued. LOL
YIPEE! We finally made it.
Talk about feeling welcomed. These signs were everywhere.
Seriously.
Mermaid Cottages provided all of our housing. (More about those amazing peeps later.)
We struck gold by landing one of Mary Kay’s personal houses. It is called Breeze Inn and is perfection. We HIGHLY recommend.
Everyone had a swag bag waiting for them. This is only part of the goodies.
Thursday night was a meet and greet at MKA’s other house: Ebb Tide.
Friday morning broke sunny and COLD. Who can resist a boardwalk to the beach?
Dr. Joe was on hand to give us a private eco-beach tour, teaching how to find shells, identify sea creatures etc. He is available year-round, I believe.
Did you know that beach foam is a form of protein? Yup.
There are two modes of transportation on the island that we recommend.
We LOVED biking everywhere on bikes (helmets provided for riders under 16) available through Tim’s Beach And Bike Gear. Tim has everything!
When your legs wear out, switch over to this:
So now you know who to call for the best stays on the beach, where to rent your gear and who to call for a tour.
Next up… the good stuff…
what those fab little houses are really like
AND
what and were to eat.
Oh yeah.
Don’t change that channel.
