Sometimes, life happens.
And you lose days………… or weeks.
And you didn’t see it coming.
When this occurs my BFF will call and say, “We’ll be friends.” which means that even though we feel like we haven’t seen each other all year, the day will come when we can hang out and it will be like old times.
This year……….Christmas was like that. Did you feel it?
Everyone that I know was sick or tending to someone who was sick.
We had a 7 week old in the hospital, a 2 yr old with the stomach bug (can you say yuk), a 4 year old with a 102 degree fever and their Daddy with the flu…….
oh, and did I mention that they were hosting Barganier Family Christmas at their house…………….and we were supposed to have tornadoes that day?
My sweet, brave daughter was calm as a cucumber (at least on the outside). This would have been me:
LOL.
But you know what?
With all of that, the silver lining was that I had 7 wonderful, unexpected days with the grandchildren AND the stomach bug happened after I left. (sorry Honey).
And we watched a million Lifetime Movies which I never ever get to do and we made a Jesse Tree together and we snuggled and never left the house which also never happens and it was….. wonderful.
Yes, that’s right. It was quite wonderful. Not in the ” I hope it happens just like that” next year kind of way but in the “give thanks in all things” kind of way.
Work was laid aside so that family could come first………………and it didn’t die (although there were a couple of CPR moments) and we are now gradually getting back with the program.
So now you know where I have been and you can tell me all of your sagas and …………..we will be friends. 🙂
I think I forgot to wish you a Merry Christmas but I hope it was just what you needed.
xoxo

Gosh, I have been thinking about you all week and wondering how y’all were surviving with all of the babes. So sorry they were all sick, too. We must fix the “never see you” situation!
